Polymer processing aids (PPAs) support a stable extrusion process by reducing die build-up and melt fracture. Fluorinated PFAS-based systems are considered particularly effective; however, they are increasingly under pressure due to growing health concerns and recent regulatory developments. This presentation provides an overview of current alternative strategies to PFAS-containing PPAs, highlights the dynamics of the market, and demonstrates that the transition to PFAS-free solutions is often easier to implement than expected.
